How To Write Better Melodies On Guitar

Most guitar teachers are teaching about writing melodies this way:

''Find the key of your song, and use the scale of that same key to write your melody. For example, if the key if C Major, create your melody in the C Major scale''.

While this method allows you to play it safe and be certain that you will play all the right notes in your melody, it ends up creating melodies that are not telling a story or not going anywhere.

In this lesson, I show you my own method, which is to stop relying on the scale too much and start relying on the chords instead!
